Zach Kostersky
Tap
Zach Kostersky was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan where he began dancing at the age of three. Growing up surrounded by dance in his family, his love for dance and music was imminent. Zach’s wide array of dance talents span many genres, including tap, ballet, contemporary, jazz, partnering and many different branches of hip hop, including animation, popping, house, breakdancing, and locking. Training and performing has also provided international performance opportunities. Zach has travelled to Germany twice with the Canadian Tap Dance Team to compete at the World Championships, where he has earned two bronze medals and one silver medal.
At age 18, after being accepted into Harbour Dance Centre’s Intensive Training Program under the direction of Moe Brody, Zach made the move to Vancouver to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. Moving to Vancouver further diversified his dancing, as he worked with many of the industry’s best choreographers. After graduating ITP, Zach trained with the likes of Illustrative Society, Kill The Lights, PraiseTEAM’s Senior Showcase, and FootClan. Zach can be seen on television as a dancer in The Flash, Riverdale, Disney’s Freaky Friday, Disney’s Descendants 3, various music videos, and a multitude of live stage performances, including The Main Event, Dancer’s Paradise, and VIBE Dance Competition.
Zach continues to diversify his abilities by training as an actor. He has been training under the guidance of Ingrid Torrance and can be seen in student films such as Midnight Screaming and Bear the Unbearable, as well as film/television in Charmed. Zach also actively trains in tricking and tumbling. He recently discovered a passion and natural aptitude for motion capture; working in hand to hand combat, sword fighting, and firearm combat. Zach is a hard working, committed, and most of all friendly person. He lives with the motivation that with each action he takes, he has the potential to positively or negatively impact someone's day, so why not choose the positive.
