Sydney Carlson

Contemporary Jazz & Sexy Styles

Sydney Carlson was born and raised in Calgary Alberta where she first discovered her love for dance at the age of five. She trained in everything she could get her body into; jazz, tap, ballet, musical theatre, hip hop and commercial styles. She earned her certifications in RAD ballet and ADAPT jazz and tap along the way.

At the age of 18 she spent two years in Vancouver learning and performing with Lux Dance Company and KTL Co. Sydney's journey then took her across the world to London, England where she danced with the Untitled Contemporary Dance Company, House of Jazz and Company Jinks. With these and other companies, she performed in International events such as Gala for Grenfell, London Pride and was part of Ricky Jinx's, Company Jinks top 12 in the BBC show, The Greatest Dancer.

Sydney is now back in Vancouver teaching her weekly classes at Harbour Dance Centre whilst also choreographing for ITP, Source as well as different local studios. She is Co-Director for Honey Dance Company and is busy auditioning and working commercially for tv shows and movies. Her latest project was working with the Freeform Television production of Motherland.

When not dancing, Sydney teaches several fitness classes as a certified group instructor.
