Eva Carius started her ballet training the suburbs of Vancouver with Ellen Andrews and Jo Slater. From local competitions she won scholarships to the Banff School of Fine Arts and the School of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. She joined the RWB company in 1975. She danced in a broad range of rolls, from the classics of Les Sylphides (Waltz) and Ashton's Les Patineurs (Blue Girl) to the more modern and dramatic Family Scenes (The Mother) and Rite of Spring (Chosen One) by Oscar Araiz. In 1980 she was invited to Le Ballet du Grand Theatre de Geneve in Switzerland as a soloist, promoted to principal a year later. There she continued her work with Oscar Araiz reprising former roles and creating many new works.

Eva began teaching while in Europe, at summer school in Vignale, Italy. On returning to Canada she danced and taught company class for Judith Marcuse Repertory Dance Theatre. She also began teaching at The Dance Gallery, Terpsichore Studios, Goh Ballet Academy and Harbour Dance Centre in Vancouver. After taking a some years off to raise a family, Eva has been teaching at Harbour Dance Centre since 2006.
