Amanda is a professional dance artist, teacher, choreographer and lover of all things movement-related. Classically trained in ballet and modern dance, Amanda is known for her precise technique, artistry, and fluidity of movement. She has trained with notable artist such as Karen Kain, Veronica Tennant, and Alonzo King Lines Ballet and has won several awards, grants and scholarships nationally. Her repertoire has expanded to include lyrical, contemporary, Argentine tango, flamenco, Chinese classical dancing, commercial styles, jazz, ballroom, and salsa dance while keeping true to her first love of ballet and pointe.
Amanda has worked in music videos, television commercials, Bollywood movies, online ad campaigns, corporate and private events and film. She has performed for the Chinese consulate and community as a principal ballerina for North Star Arts management. Amanda has also volunteered as a principal dancer and choreographer for Brilliant!, Shine! and Red galas benefiting mental health and health research, and often organizes and holds her own dance fundraisers for causes close to her heart.
When not teaching or performing, Amanda is on the Board of Directors for Canadian Alliance of Dance Artists (CADA) West. She has also completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training certification and loves to also teach body conditioning and yoga for dancers.
Amanda feels fortunate to be able to share her passion of dance with dancers of all backgrounds and abilities, and with audiences and arts lovers alike.
