Abbygale Chung is a professional dancer and choreographer born in Edmonton, now based in Vancouver. From early on, Abby idolized versatile, adaptable dancers. She strived to become that by training in a wide array of styles growing up, and has continued to push herself to perform across genres. This has aided her pursuit of diverse professional opportunities including national ad campaigns (7-Eleven Canada, Honda Motors, Tutti Frutti), supporting various recording artists on tour (Lia Cole, Janet Jackson in Edmonton), and attending Los Angeles' Millennium Dance Complex Certificate Program with the support of an Alberta Arts Foundation grant. After returning to Canada from her extensive training in LA, Abby landed credits such as CW’s Riverdale, Lifetime TV’s Undercover Cheerleaders and most recently, choreographing for a commercial in partnership with PlanIt Sound. More of Abby’s choreography can be found in an array of music videos, short films and live performances for local artists. Aside from her pursuits in the performing industry, Chung teaches internationally as a resident choreographer and instructor in Dubai (UAE), faculty on intensives in Guangzhou and Amsterdam, and has travelled with Velocity Dance Convention across the US as a choreographer’s assistant. Abby is a firm believer that being a great teacher starts with being a great student. She is a long running company member of Motus the Company, led by Diana Matos and never stops at the opportunity to level up. This concept is the driving force behind her creativity, work ethic and passion for teaching in Vancouver.
