Graeme Kitagawa

Graeme grew up in Brooks, Alberta and started dancing at the age of 3. There he trained at Rhythmic Soles Dance Academy in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary and Musical Theatre. He has also completed his ADAPT Intermediate 3 Jazz and Tap exams. After graduation Graeme moved to Vancouver to train at Harbour Dance Centre in the Intensive Training Program. Under the direction of Moe Brody, he trained with many well-known choreographers in Vancouver. This year Graeme completed a year of training with Joanne Pesusich and the Source Dance Company. Also this year, he appeared in an episode of ABC’s “Imaginary Mary” and was a part of a production of “The Music Man” with Gateway Theatre.

  • Tap Intro/1 Workshop Mon Nov 6-27
  • A very high energy step class that lets your feet play the music. In this class, basic rhythms to tricky steps and choreography are worked upon.

    Level Intro/1: moving on from beginners, picking up the pace a little, amalgamating steps and rhythms, a good confidence builder.

    Mondays at 5:30
    November 6-27 with Graeme Kitagawa.

    4 weeks for $60 by Oct 30, $64 afterwards.

  • Tap Workshop drop-in
  • Drop-in option to the workshop

  • Tap 1 Workshop Tues Nov 7-Dec 19

    7 weeks for $105 by October 31, $112 afterwards.

    Level 1 is for students who have tapped for 1 year or more.

  • Jazz 1
  • Jazz: Our Jazz is mostly commercial style. Classes includes warm-up exercises, isolations, steps and choreography. Recorded popular music is used. Mix of Lyrical, pop, and New York Style depending on the teacher.
     
    Level 1: Intermediate. For dancers with anywhere from one to four years experience who enjoy a slower-paced class with less complex dance steps.

  • A very high energy step class that lets your feet play the music. In this class, basic rhythms to tricky steps and choreography are worked upon.

    Thursdays at 7:30
    November 2-December 21 with Graeme Kitagawa 8 weeks for $120 by Oct 26, $128 afterwards.*Ann Dawkins Nov 2. 

    Intro is for Beginners. Starting with the basics, designed for those with very little or no experience of tap, a chance to start right from the beginning.

  • Theatre Tap 1
  • Theatre Tap class will focus on classic tap technique while exploring the various styles used in Broadway shows. The class will involve warm-up, expanding your tap knowledge while creating rhythm, and Broadway-inspired choreography. Eat your heart out Fred Astaire!
