Delina Law

Delina started her ballet training at seven with Jean M. Wong School of Ballet in Hong Kong. At fifteen, she went to Canada to study high school and then university. She continued her ballet training at Alberta Ballet School and York University. During her studies in Canada, she had received two dance scholarships, one from York University and the other from The Banff Centre for the Arts. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance from York University in 1980. She performed with the Goh Ballet in Vancouver for a year and then returned to Hong Kong in 1981.

In Hong Kong, Delina had worked as a dancer with the City Contemporary Dance Company (CCDC), Resident Choreographer for Hong Kong Television Broadcasts Limited (HK-TVB) and Dance Director of Asia Television Limited (ATV). She had choreographed and directed numerous works for television, films and stage. Her choreographic venture had taken her to New York, Athens, Kuala Lumpur, Edmonton, Vancouver and Toronto.

Delina moved to Canada in 1990 and continued her dance career there. She taught ballet at Harbour Dance Centre, Ballet British Columbia and Arts Umbrella in Vancouver. She performed and choreographed for the annual ‘Dancing on the Edge Festival’ from 1991-1993. She also choreographed for Arts Umbrella Youth Dance Company and co-produced an evening long dance concert ‘3 at Eleven’ in 1996. She returned to Hong Kong the same year.

  • Ballet: Helps to build a strong base, clean technique and proper alignment, all of which are essential for any kind of dance. Barre exercises, combinations across the floor and adagio are taught to live piano accompaniment. Level 3: This is our most advanced level directed towards long-time enthusiasts and professionals.
