About Ken's teaching style: A fun, high-energy, progressive class for beginners that focuses on building the foundation of dance (such as grooving, body rhythm, co-ordination and isolation), as well as learning the latest dance moves and style in the form of original choreographed routines.

JP Tarlit

JP (John Paul) Tarlit is quickly rising to the top as a dancer & choreographer in the Vancouver dance scene. In his career, he has won numerous competitions with his team The Faculty, including World of Dance Vancouver and Artist Emerge in 2011,2012 and 2013, also placing 3rd at the 2013 Body Rody competition in San Diego. JP has taught internationally including in Croatia, Germany and Switerzland and currently teaches drop in classes at both Harbour Dance Centre and Studio604 in his hometown of Vancouver. Always eager to share his passion with the world, JP continues to share with others his love for dance.

Eric Malapad

Eric has taught at Harbour Dance for over 15 years. He is one of our most popular teachers. His love of dance and passion is felt in all his classes. If you want to learn how to dance, give this one a try. Wear Baggy Hip Hop pants to this class....

Sarah Corrigan

Born and raised in Vancouver, Sarah began her love for dance at the young age of 4. She trained extensively at Spotlight Dance Centre for 13 years in ballet, jazz, contemporary/modern, musical theatre, tap, and hip hop. Sarah also began acting early on with credits that include Mattel, Save On Foods, Bubblicious Bursts, and Kitchen Aid.

After graduation, Sarah went on to become a member of The Source Dance Company under the direction of Joanne Pesusich where she was given opportunities to perform around the lower mainland, Kelowna, and the Sunshine Coast. During her year in The Source, Sarah fell in love with hip hop and urban styles which fuelled her decision to focus more on commercial styles and expand her dance knowledge.

Currently Sarah is apart of Kill The Lights (KTL) directed by Ken Yung and Shauna Smith based out of Harbour Dance Centre. Sarah has performed all around the country in shows like Canada’s Got Talent, BC Lions Half-Time Show, and Whistler’s World Ski &Snowboard Festival.

Richie Lubaton

As a multi- talented dancer and choreographer, Richie has been in the dance industry for several years. He discovered his passion for dancing at a later age than most but that didn’t stop him from pursuing various dance styles avidly, including: hip hop, popping, locking, breaking and house. As a part of Vancouvers “Faculty” dance crew (dir: Carlo Atienza) Richie was able to help them win several titles in dance competitions including (Artist Emerge, World of Dance Vancouver and Seattle) He is also a staff member of Vancouver's most prestigious drop in studio “Harbour Dance Centre” where he shares his love of dance with his students every week!

Amanda Wild

Amanda Wild was born in Calgary AB, where her first tumbling, tap and ballet classes sparked a fire in her for the performing arts. After originally training in gymnastics, Amanda moved forward to discover her love for movement in multiple dance disciplines including ballet, modern, contemporary, lyrical, jazz and her passion: hip-hop. After moving to Victoria, Amanda began teaching at multiple studios and high schools for over 5 years. She then re- located to Vancouver to extend her training under Moe Brody of Harbour Dance Centre and their Intensive Training Program. There, Wild was invited to be the closing act of the Vancouver Spring show at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, as well as dance back-up for the artist, Michael Bernard Fitzgerald during the Vancouver stop on his Canadian tour. Following ITP, Amanda continued to train in Vancouver with companies such as Two Four Seven Co. SOULdiers Co. and Illustrative Society’s Mentorship Program where she honed her technique in popping, house, locking, breaking, hip-hop and freestyle. Due to her strong passion for teaching, as well as her unique choreography, Amanda has continued to work in Vancouver dance scene, choreographing for names such as Dancing With The Stars B.C, SO LOKI, and The Harlem Globetrotters. Providing quality dance lessons and instruction for every level, Amanda continues to dazzle the dance world not only as a dancer, but a leader and an artist of her generation.

Chris Wong

Chris “Wow” Wong is an established director and choreographer in Canada, he was voted 1st runner-up as Vancouver's best dancer in Georgia's Straight 2014. He is professionally trained in all foundations of street dance. His philosophy and curriculum emphasizes on using these techniques to find your identity as a dancer.

As a competitor, he has won 1st place Wild Card, Highest Score at Artist Emerge 2012 and 1st runner up at World of Dance Vancouver 2012. As a performer you have seen dancing as a principal dancer in Official Winter Olympics 2010 events, music videos by Lynx & Kemo and more. You can find him as a judge at many competitions including Vancouver's Top Dancer, Outbreak, High School High and many more. His training includes Advanced Street Style Lab in New York, Souldiers, TwoFourSeven Dance Company, Debbie Reynolds Studio and Millenium Dance Complex.

Influenced by hip hop music and culture, this class introduces the foundations of hip hop movement and popular dance steps. Hip hop encompasses styles including locking, popping, house, grooving and more. Styles of hip hop taught in this class are similar to performances of dancers in you might see in music videos or on tour. (Please bring clean runners to class, no street shoes).

Level Intro: For those with little or no dance background, you'll learn all the basics at this level.
